Malakas Tayo / We Are Strong Tee for #STOPASIANHATE

Malakas Tayo / We Are Strong Tee for #STOPASIANHATE

This was a collaboration between Coursework and Chicago-based coffee shop Side Practice Coffee —both Filipino-owned small businesses.

Malakas Tayo, meaning "We are strong" in Tagalog is our message for Asian American and Pacific Islander people as well as those who stand in solidarity against Anti-Asian hate. The proceeds of this t-shirt went towards the fight against racism, hate crimes, xenophobia, and bigotry towards AAPI communities. Too often, the violence and attacks towards Asians are ignored and underreported. We can no longer stay silent. We know t-shirts won't solve the problem, but we hope it helps spark conversations, opens minds and changes hearts.

This tee was for my dad (pictured here), my mom, and my aunts and uncles who could easily have been one of the targeted victims of Asian hate. We are so thankful for the amount of support we received with this tee. Thank you again for all your support.
